Zorba The Greek Lives In Shirley?

A Shirley man was arrested and charged with DWI and leaving the scene after he fled from a crash that injured a woman and her two children in Bay Shore.

Anthony Quinn was operating a 2004 Acura westbound on Sunrise Highway when he lost control of the vehicle as tried to exit onto Brentwood Rd.. Quinn, 27, of 95 Grand Ave., crossed the southbound lane and struck a 2008 Honda sedan traveling northbound.

Quinn then fled the scene.

The Honda was overturned by the impact. A 37-year-old Bay Shore woman, along with her 11-year-old son and four-year-old daughter, were injured. They were transported to Southside Hospital where they were treated and released.

Witnesses to the crash provided cops with a description of Quinn’s vehicle, and officer Kevin Scheibe of the Third Precinct began patrolling the surrounding area. Approximately 25 minutes later, Officer Scheibe located the vehicle parked several blocks away and saw Quinn walking nearby.

When questioned about the incident, Quinn admitted his involvement in the crash and was arrested.

Quinn was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident Without Reporting with Physical Injury.

Quinn was held overnight at the Third Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 3.
