Route 112 Is Dangerous

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a Patchogue crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian this evening.

Jose Luis Quinones, 38, was crossing Route 112 at James Street when he was struck by a 2008 Ford Taurus at approximately 6:30 p.m. The driver of the Ford, James Farley, of Medford, was traveling north on Route 112.

Quinones, a Mexican resident who was in town visiting relatives, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
