This is just depressing seeing this. There's at least some 5 ft. of sand that's been wiped out. Congressman Tim Bishop wants Patterson to declare the south shore a disaster area. Even so, nothing will be done until NEXT FALL because of the piping plovers inhabiting the area. (click on pics to view larger size)

This sign is placed about 1/2 mile from "historic" Smith Point (Smith Point starts at about where Havenwood Dr is located). The above sign is right before the Woodland Estates. But the Smith Point Historical Society of Mastic has their own maps. Done with crayons.

In the Woodland Estates you will see this home. It's like being on a date with Megan Fox and all you could notice is the festering sore on her upper lip with a hair sticking out. And it's throbbing and it's about to pop with all the puss coming out.
