Homicide squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of a Mastic Beach man after police officers, responding to a report of shots fired, found a man dead in the road early Tuesday.
Seventh Precinct police officers were called to Commack Road and Maywood Drive in Mastic Beach at 12:43 a.m. and found the body of Justin Liggon, 24, of Meadowmere Road. He had been shot, police said.
Liggon had a current domestic violence case in Suffolk District Court stemming from a July 4 incident. He was out on $750 cash bail after a July 13 hearing on a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief with the intent of damaging property. He was due back in court Oct. 5.
Detectives ask anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS; or call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392. All calls will be kept confidential.

i knew justin too and ya know what he really wasnt a bad guy.. tough exterior with a good heart.. and man could he ride a bike. he will be greatly missed and they will find whoever did this and theyll live the rest of their lives behind bars, like you losers said, karmas a bitch.

My best friend...Justin and I hung out everyday, there wasnt a day that went by where I didnt see him or we didnt speak... It hurts to know that because of some asshole I wont have a chance to him or speak to him again...people need to think about the things they say before they say it...Regaurdless what my dude may have been through in his life no one should just be left out to die, and he was with "FRIENDS"..but I dont think they know the meaning of that word because they should have never left his side.. Justin knows what happened and I honestly believe whoever is responcible for this will have their day!! It may not be as quick as we all want but justice will be served!!

Its ridiculous how this man hasnt been gone for a week and people actually have the audacity to talk down on him. The fact that he was with his " friends " and they didnt even stop to help him makes me SICK. Imagine how his family feels. Some people just have no respect for other people. What happens in the dark comes out in the light so whoever did this will be DEALT WITH. Rest Ez Justin. Now you know who was really RIDIN with you and against you.
I don't know this guy, but it saddens me to see so many people leaving such hateful blogs about a person, regardless of his past, that recently died. No one here has entirely clean hands. I'm sure many of you who have left hate filled blogs have things in your past you don't want people to know.
Please, show some respect for the dead - at least for the sake of his immediate family.
