Suffolk County Police arrested a Mastic Beach man in his home for sharing child pornography over the Internet on March 19th, 2009.

Computer Crimes Section detectives executed a search warrant at 8 Juniper Road and arrested Sidney Gonzalez for sharing child pornography over the internet. Detectives seized Gonzalez’ computer that contained a large quantity of child pornography, including images and video of young children engaged in sexual activity.

Detectives were initially delayed in entering the home as six pit bulls had to be secured by another resident.

Gonzalez, 51, was charged with one count of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child and two counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child. Additionally, he was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration and Tampering with Physical Evidence after he removed the computer’s hard drive and hid in his basement when detectives arrived.
