Two Events Coming Up...

Just a reminder...(update at bottom)

On Saturday, March 14th, 2009 there will be 2 events that you may think relevant to what's going on in the area.

The first event will be by the Pattersquash Creek Civic Association. They're having a community fundraiser to benefit the Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee. Luck O'The Irish Festival featuring a Chinese Auction, Bake Sale, and Spring Craft Sale, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Town Nutrition Center on Neighborhood Road (next to the gazebo at the Neighborhood Square in the Mastic Beach business district). I'm still trying to get them to auction off newly single Megan Fox but for some reason they're not returning my calls. I'm not asking for much am I?

The admission is $5.00 and includes 5 free auction tickets. Free refreshments will be served. Admission tickets can be bought in advance (and will receive an extra 6th auction ticket) or at the door.

New and slightly used items for the auction and volunteers to set up, work, and/or clean up the event are needed. If you can donate items or volunteer, if you need more information, or if you need tickets, please call (631) 487-0595.

The other event will be a meeting by the Smith Point Village Exploratory Committee (SPVEC) at the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library in rooms A&B from 2:30 to 4:30PM. They will be introducing themselves to all who attend and will be discussing 3 proposed boundaries for their village incorporation. Here you can see one of the proposed boundaries. Refreshments will be served after the meeting, not before, because we all know how some people are: get something to drink and just bounce up out of there. I'm talking to YOU. Yes, you know who you are.

Let me reiterate that there are TWO groups working on getting Smith Point/Shirley incorporated. The group I mentioned above and the Smith Point Beach Property Owners Association (SPBPOA). These 2 groups are completely separate from each other. The SPVEC is headed by volunteers who are members of Smith Point/Shirley and are looking for what's in the best interest of their area. The other group, the SPBPOA, is ran by someone who doesn't live in the area but lives in Mastic. That's right, Almighty High Chancellor Priestess Lord Sith and her acolytes which together form the Ministry of Darkness. Also, the SPBPOA has been working on this for almost 2 years and have gotten ZERO done.

These 2 events are not restricted to those who live in their respective areas. If you're from Shirley or Mastic or anywhere surrounding Mastic Beach you're welcomed to attend. Likewise, all are welcomed to attend the meeting being held at the library by the SPVEC. Hell, if you have absolutely nothing to do you can attend both!

Even if you're not interested or can't attend forward (share) this with anyone in the area that you know and may be interested in attending.

UPDATE:
I may be attending both events with a special guest to the area. Please, do not approach me asking for an autograph as I will shoo you away and then it'll be caught on TMZ and my life will be
ruined.

LMAOOOO."That's right, Almighty High Chancellor Priestess Lord Sith and her acolytes which together form the Ministry of Darkness." What an apt description for the psycho, she's becoming more like Dominic Licata every day.

Ummm....there will also be delicious cake...that's right, cake...lots of it and cookies too. We all know how warm it can be when you're in a room with lots of people, so we are breaking away from the traditional coffee and providing soda and water.

Cake? Woot! It's gonna be a party.

Throw your hands in the air and wave 'em like you just don't care ::waving::

And if you wanna see Smith Point get incorporated everybody scream "oh yeah"

Wow could they make those images of the proposed boundaries any smaller?

I know, it's bad. They have to post a thumbnail to an original sized pic for everyone to see better.
