The Quote...

There's an article in the Washington Post about a group of students from Liberty University that visit the Smithsonian Institute every year. What's so special about that? Well, Liberty University was founded by Jerry "9/11 happened because of the gay" Falwell and is thus a Christian university. Fundamentalist Christians to be exact. And their science curriculum must dovetail nicely with a literal interpretation of the bible. So against mountains of scientific evidence to the contrary, at Liberty U they teach that God created man in his present form about 6,000 - 10,000 years ago (this would be about 1,000 years after the Sumerians first brewed beer and 30,000 years after homo sapiens reached Europe).

For Creationists, a literal interpretation of the bible is reality ... and anything contradicting that is patently false.

Or is it?

The Quote:

"Why should we be afraid to test our worldview against reality?" asked Bill Jack, a Christian leadership instructor who leads groups across the country for a company called Biblically Correct Tours.

Memo from God: Billy, you're not helping.
