Six Arrested In Mastic

Suffolk County Police have arrested six people and recovered four stolen handguns after a home was burglarized in Mastic last week.

Four handguns, jewelry and assorted electronic equipment were stolen during a burglary in Mastic that occurred on February 18 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Seventh Squad detectives with the assistance of the Criminal Intelligence Unit and the Patrol Special Operations Team determined that Raymond Hubbard and Rahmel Walker committed the burglary.

Further investigation revealed four other people were found in possession of the handguns. A search warrant was executed which found two additional handguns and a 22 caliber rifle.

Arrested on February 21 were:

Raymond Hubbard, 18, of 62 Eleanor Ave., Mastic, was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Sale of a Firearm 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree.

Rahmel Walker, 17, of 47 Neptune Ave., Mastic, was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree.

Richard Hubbard, 19, of 62 Eleanor Ave., Mastic, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree.

Frederick Hubbard, 24, of 91 Broadway, Shirley, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.

Dewayne Riddick, 21, of 12 Franklin St., Riverhead, and Marquise Brown, 20, of 159 Poospatuck Lane, Mastic, were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.

All six men will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on February 22. The investigation is continuing.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
