Port Jefferson Man Arrested in Ridge. But Wait, There's More!

Where's Chris Hansen when you need him?

Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Officers have arrested a Port Jefferson man for DWI and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, after he was found drunk with two 14-year-olds in the car.

On February 18, 2009, at about 12:20 AM, Officer Christopher Steimel of the Seventh Precinct noticed a suspicious Volkswagen Jetta, idling on the shoulder of Route 25, near Pine Bark Road in Ridge. When the officer investigated further, he found Matthew Rayola, 28, of 111 East Broadway, Port Jefferson, behind the steering wheel and two 14-year-old girls also in the car. Rayola reeked of alcohol. With the assistance of Officer Miller, Officer Steimel placed Rayola under arrest.

Rayola was transported to the Seventh Precinct. The father of one of the girls came to the scene to take custody of the two girls. He stated he had supervision over the second girl and that he did not know who Rayola was.

Rayola was charged with 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Driving While Intoxicated. He will be held overnight for arraignment at First District Court, Central Islip, on February 18, 2009.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

If you do a Myspace search for the name of the accused, one person shows up. Same age.

Just saying...
