Meet The Candidates At The Mastic Beach Fire House

UPDATE: Just a reminder to everyone who's interested that this event is tomorrow. I've been told that the "Meet and Greet" with the candidates is on top of the agenda and discussion of incorporation will be secondary. No "yes or no" confirmation of any delicious cake.

The MBVEC (Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee) will be having another meeting on March 2nd (Monday) at 7:00PM at the Mastic Beach Fire House on Neighborhood Rd. They'll be discussing how the incorporation process is going (my guess is they'll be recruiting for more volunteers), and it'll also be a "Meet The Candidates" gathering.

No, you won't be meeting Hopey McChangey and Gramps "Get off my lawn" McCain. We already know how that one turned out (thank you Bible Spice)! This is a meeting with Tim Mazzei and Mark Lesko. Both candidates are running in a special election to replace Brian X. Foley, and take over as Brookhaven Town Supervisor.

Mazzei -- shown here on the left modeling a sweater from the latest Sears collection -- is a Republican. He supports socialism for corporations and free-market for the poor. He has a bromance with Jesus and is so Pro-Life that he doesn't approve of the use of condoms because it's wrong to have future Christian soldiers being flushed down the toilet in latex coffins.

Lesko -- on the upper-right showing that he likes black people -- is a Democrat. That means he's a Pinko Commiemarxistfascistsocialist who can't find Jesus (psst ... he's behind the couch) and is a God hating Muslim. He believes in socialism for the poor and free-market for corporations. He also loves granola bars and wants everyone to become a vegan and give up meat; even if animal protein played a part in our evolutionary split with lower primates. Oh, he also hates America and loves the French (get ready to regrow your armpit hairs, ladies).

So come on down to the Mastic Beach Fire House on March 2nd at 7:00PM. You can ask the candidates your questions -- if you have any -- and find out what they would accomplish as Brookhaven Town Supervisor. The election is on March 31st. There should be refreshments there -- and if it was like last time some delicious cake -- as well as plenty of discussion about the village incorporation.

@anon,

I don't know what 'rederick' means (OK, I do but I don't want to play Spelling Nazi right now). As far as where to find out "facts about all the bull" I posted here about the last meeting. There's also an email from another resident that attended the meeting. The Pattersquatch (sp?) Creek Association is the main group behind the committee. Of course, like in any political race, volunteers will be jockeying for positions when and if the village comes to fruition. You can also check the website for the committee here.

Will the impending (i assume I spelled that right) snow storm change the meeting time/ date ???

I highly doubt it anon, as the snow is supposed to end tomorrow morning and the meeting is at night. Everything should be clear by then.
