Shouldn't have cut him off!

Suffolk County Police Department Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a road rage incident during which a motorist was shot in the leg.

William Intorcia, 49, of Old Field, told investigators that he pulled his Honda Civic over on Woodside Avenue after he perceived that another vehicle was following him too closely. The other vehicle stopped as well, and both drivers got out. A struggle ensued and Intorcia claims that the other driver pulled out a handgun and shot him in the right leg. The suspect then fled in a dark SUV.

Intorcia was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital by Medford Fire Department Rescue.

Detectives are asking that anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time of this incident or who may have witnessed it to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
