Our very own Bonnie and Clyde?


Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad Detectives have charged a man and a woman from Mastic, with the gunpoint robbery of two men in North Bellport.

On January 3, 2009, at about 12:00 AM, two men, a 35-year-old and a 24-year-old, were sitting in vehicle parked on Walker Avenue in North Bellport. They were approached by two black men brandishing what appeared to be shotguns. One of the suspects smashed the victims’ car window with the shotgun and both suspects demanded drugs and money. The victims did not possess any drugs but did relinquish some cash. Both suspects then fled in a white Honda being driven by a female accomplice.

Responding Fifth Precinct Officers immediately broadcast the description of the robbery suspects and their vehicle over the police radio. A short time later, Seventh Precinct Officers Stephen Krolikiewicz and Christopher DeFeo observed a vehicle matching the description on Montauk Highway in Mastic. With the assistance of the Patrol Special Operations Bureau, the officers arrested Sharon Wilson, 27, of 176 Poospatuck Lane, Mastic, and Gavin Hessing, 22, of 104 Poospatuck Lane, Mastic. A pistol-grip shotgun and cash were recovered.

Both defendants were charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree. They will be held overnight for arraignment at First District Court, Central Islip, on January 3, 2009. Detectives are asking anyone who may know the identity or location of the third suspect to call the Fifth squad at 631-854-8552, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
