This sign is placed about 1/2 mile from "historic" Smith Point (Smith Point starts at about where Havenwood Dr is located). The above sign is right before the Woodland Estates. But the Smith Point Historical Society of Mastic has their own maps. Done with crayons.

What? Is there anything in this town that makes sense???
That would be the SPBPOA and their village committee who think by changing the borders they can get their exclusionary version of a village through...you know, the one that doesn't include all the residents, just the ones with money. Even better, their leader can't even vote on the their village because she doesn't live there! These are the same people who make up names and write letters to the Manorville Press in support of their village, because the true residents of this community don't support them.
actually if you went to the fair that the committee held this passed weekend they've raised almost more than half of the money they need to turn this town into an incorporated village. they dont touch the taxes, and they get all the section 8 and slumlords out of here.
wrong committee....you're talking about the SPVEC (Smith Point Village EXPLORATORY Committee) who want to include everyone south of Sunrise to the Beach. The SPBPOA aren't going that far, only from about Woodland Estates south and after almost 2 years have only raised about $8,000 - which shows they have no support in the community, haven't set their boundaries and haven't started the census. The SPVEC in six months has raised half the money, set the boundaries and are over 800 houses into the census, which obviously shows they have the support of the community.

The SPBOA and the village idiot Delia McKernan put that sign up along with cohort and puppet master Dominick Licata. Licata lives in North Carolina also and runs there everytime he comes under fire. Two people who really dont live here telling us the residents about history. Their account of history is wrong, very wrong. Call DPW and complain you do not want this sign there.
This so called woman by the name of Delia is nothing but a scam artist and a con artist, she has broken every law and even used slander to sabotage the SPVEC. Do not let this woman intimidate you with empty promises, she has no credibility and is looking out for her own political interest not yours! If you want to have a better quality of life in Shirley we must all be included and not excluded..Maybe she should try and incorporate her own community and stay out of ours...
